    In 1979 I purchased my first Shih Tzu, because I thought they were cute.  I had no idea they had such a wonderful temperament.  They don't bark, growl, or bite.  They seem to like strangers more than people they know.  They love children, and anything else that is breathing- cats, ferrets, rabbits, or other dogs.  The only drawback is that they have to be groomed.
